Rules & Regulations

 

 
ON GOING POLICY
Due to our insurance requirements and our commitment of promoting safe recreation fishing for all our members the following bond will be adhered too. 
Ÿ   THIS CLUB WILL NOT SUPPORT OR CONDONE ANY UNSAFE OR UNLAWFUL PRACTISE BY ANY CLUB MEMBERS. DEFINITION-            Any member that has broken the law in the time of any function or club outing will not be supported in any way by this club (Warilla Hotel amateur fishing club).
Ÿ  THIS CLUB DOES NOT CONDONE THE USAGE OF ANY ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE BY MEMBERS AT ANY TIME. DEFINITION-            This club will not condone or be held responsible for the usage of any illegal drugs at any club functions or outings. 
Ÿ  THIS CLUB FROM TIME TO TIME WILL SUBSIDISE MEMBERS FOR FOODS, SOFT DRINKS AND ANY OTHER ITEMS THAT THE STANDING COMMITTEE SEE FIT TO AT THEIR DISCRETION. 
DEFINITION-            This club will not supply any alcohol at any club outings. Members will be responsible for their own supply and the consuming of any alcohol. 
NOTE – If the Fishing Club provides alcohol to members during an organized club event the Club endorses all Responsible Service of Alcohol protocols and supports the Hotel Management in the implementation of the RSA laws and all other House Policies The Fishing club supports all efforts to minimize harm and asks members to consume alcohol in moderation.  
Ÿ  If a member of the fishing club has any issues or concerns relating to the fishing club, sponsorship or competitions, these concerns must only be addressed with the fishing club executive committee. At no time should a member voice concerns to hotel staff or management. The executive will hold regular meetings with hotel management and members, questions will be raised in that format only.
DEFINITION - Hotel management or staff are not to be approached to resolve any Fishing Club issues.
Ÿ  Any Fishing Club member that has been Suspended / Barred by Hotel Management for misbehaving will have the same suspension imposed on them by the Fishing Club committee. 
DEFINITION- A fishing club member that has been barred from the Warilla Hotel will not be permitted to represent the Warilla Hotel Fishing club in any of its events for the period of time they are suspended from the hotel.

NOTE: AGM is held at the end of the clubs year. Date is to be posted not less then three weeks before the meeting. This is to be done by the president in consultation with the committee.
The Treasurer must give and table the financial report.The weigh master also gives his report.The President will ask the existing committee to evacuate all positions at the end of each club year and a chairman elected by the members for the reason of electing the new committee.
Once the new President has been elected he will then take control of the meeting.The positions will be as  follows-

The weigh master is to keep all records of any weigh-in throughout the year and then calculate the point score for each division.                                                           
 
1) Only financial members shall be eligible to compete in any club competitions or any club functions.
2) Juniors must be under 18 years of age.
3) Fishing divisions (as from 1st August 2010 Rock, Beach and Estuary is land base only. Boat section will include any fishing from any floating devices; this will include all bodies of water).
4) The club must hold a monthly competition on the third full weekend of each month.
5) The committee has the power to set up club functions and outing on behalf of members.
6) The committee may set up additional fishing competitions for members. These comps are not to interfere with the clubs point scores. (E.g. - Bream comp).
7) The committee may also arrange competitions with other clubs on behalf of members.These comp scores may be added to the club yearly points.
8) Members may nominate to fish in other competitions on behalf of the club. The club will cover the cost of the team event only.
9) The committee will be responsible for the up keep of the registration to SCFCA of all members for the reasons of competitions and insurance.
10) Altering of any fees to members must only be done by the committee calling of an extra ordinary meeting.
 
A total of three
 Prizes shall be awarded to the following.
Ÿ  For the heaviest of each nominated species for juniors and seniors.
Ÿ  Club champions for each divisions. (Beach / rock, estuary land base, Boat all bodies of water.
Ÿ  Club champion overall is decided by adding all monthly competitions points across all divisions.
Ÿ  Club member of the year is decided by the committee in consultation with members.
Ÿ  Life membership a member may be nominated for this achievement by the committee in consultation with members.These rules may only be changed by members nominating any changes in writing not less then three weeks before the AGM or by asking the committee to hold un- extraordinary meeting. The appointment for this meeting will be at the discretion of the full committee.

WEIGHING, GENERAL RULES.
Ÿ  Fish that is presented for weighing must be gutted and gilled.
Ÿ  Fish must not be mutilated, stale or frozen.
Ÿ  Fish must have been caught in N.S.W.
Ÿ  Record species can be weighed in during pub trading hours. This must be witnessed by the weigh master a club member (that was not fishing with you at the time of capture) or a member of the bar staff that have some knowledge of fish species and these rules.
Ÿ  Species date and weights must be recorded in the log book and signed by the witness. (Note -        The display board is only to be updated by the weigh master or authorised personnel).
Ÿ  Record species may be weighed in at the Pub or at any premises that have a government registered scales. A receipt must be generated and sign by the owner of the scales. This receipt than must be presented to the weigh master or a member of the committee. (The usage of receipt will not be eligible for the fish of the month or at monthly comps).

Monthly competition  
Note – For the monthly comp bag limits is as SPECIFIED for the Whole comp weekend.
Ÿ  The monthly competition is held on the third full weekend of every month from 4 pm Friday afternoon to Sunday 4 pm or otherwise specified.
Ÿ  Fish bags must be in the weighing area by 4 pm Sunday or by the specified time. Members can also weigh in during pub trading hours throughout comp weekend.
Ÿ  There are two categories, Biggest Fish and Biggest Fish bag. Members must nominate their biggest fish first before weighing in their total bag. Members are only eligible to take out one prize. By winning the biggest fish prize you are then not eligible for the biggest bag. The biggest fish will be included in your bag if you don‘t take the biggest fish prize.
Ÿ  Fish of the month-            Members can weigh this eligible species throughout the month. The winner of the heaviest of the species will be announced at the end of the monthly comp.  (The usage of receipt will not be eligible for the fish of the month or monthly comps).The above rules may be changed to accommodate special events.
