HONDA
Since 1964 Honda has made a commitment to making the
most efficient, economical and ecologically sound

motor Honda puts all of its technology and expertise

frequent studies and tests have proven its success

As of 2007 Honda’s BF75/90 4-stroke engines have
been officially recognised as having the lowest carbon
monoxide rating of any outboard engine sold in Australia.
Audited USA EPA emissions data reveal Honda’s
high-performance mid-range engines produce just 61g
of carbon monoxide (CO) per kw/hr – the lowest
of any engine tested. Honda Marine manager Tim Davies
said this recognition was further testament to Honda’s “green
dream” – a commitment to produce the world’s
most environmentally friendly engines.
Every outboard engine in Honda’s range achieves
the Outboard Engine Distributors Association (OEDA)
three-star ultra-low emission rating for superior environmental
performance. Honda is the only company with 100 per
cent range compliance to this rating proving that Honda’s
advanced technology is without equal.
Additionally, Honda’s EFI outboard engines have
ranked ‘Highest in Customer Satisfaction with
4-Stroke Outboard Engines’ in the J.D. Power
and Associates 2007 Marine Engine Competitive Information
Study. This is the third consecutive year Honda has
received the 4-stroke EFI outboard award. Honda Marine
manager Tim Davies said Honda engines scored 939 out
of a possible 1000 points – the highest total
since the award’s inception. The J.D. Power and
Associates study also reported an increased awareness
among boat owners that higher-technology engines delivered
a superior overall boating experience. Even further,
it revealed a marked increase in demand for quiet,
efficient, clean-running engines.
A number of major organizations have adopted Honda’s
because of these unique characteristics including the
Australian Volunteer Coast Guard and Sea World in QLD.
The Shellharbour and Wollongong Volunteer Coast Guard
are local organizations adopting Honda motors and attest
to Honda’s minimal fuel consumption and reliability.
In fact the high HP range of Honda’s have been
proven to consume up to 50% less fuel than 2-stroke
engines.
